Protecting yourself against this year’s strain of flu is a good idea.  We provide the winter  flu vaccine in Chippenham Pharmacy and Health Clinic and our team is here to help you.

Maybe you are worried about catching flu, or you are concerned about having time off work. Or maybe you just want to make sure you do not pass it on to the more vulnerable members of your family. Whatever the reason, being vaccinated against this year’s strain of flu can give you protection and peace of mind. We offer the FREE NHS flu vaccinations to people aged 18 years and older who are eligible to receive it and we also offer a private flu vaccination service for adults aged 18 and over who are not eligible for the free NHS service.

The free NHS flu vaccines are available for those who:

• are 65 and over
• have certain health conditions (more information can be found here)
• are pregnant (from the 1st September)
• are in long-stay residential care homes
• receive a carer’s allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick
• close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
• front line health and social care workers who cannot access the vaccine through their employer (more information can be found here)

If however, you do not qualify for a free NHS flu jab we can still provide you with a private flu vaccination.

Who shouldn’t have the vaccine?

Most people can have the vaccines. However, there are a couple of exceptions:

• If you are currently unwell with a fever, you should delay getting the flu vaccine.
• If you have an egg allergy, speak to your GP or pharmacist before getting the vaccine.

Follow the process to book your vaccine:

1. Booking open from the 4th of August 2025 direct with the pharmacy or:
2. Via the NHS booking system from the 1st of September 2025
   1. Book via the NHS National Booking System (NBS) or call NHS 119
3. Select our pharmacy from the list of locations
4. Choose a date and time that works for you.
   1. You will be able to book appointments from 1st of October 2025
   2. This service will close on the 31st March 2026
